Meet Our Boy and Girl of the Year

Simon | Age 6 | Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Three months after Simon's autism diagnosis in 2017 he developed a limp. The family at first thought it was an injury until he spiked a fever. Simon was taken to Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and received the ALL diagnosis. Simon was put on a low-risk protocol for ALL treatment (3.5 years) but due to the U.S adopting a shorter treatment protocol and COVID-19, Simon finished treatment a year early in April 2020! Simon is doing great and recovering. Simons like to play with toy cars and ride his scooter.

Kayli | Age 12 | Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

In April 2019 Kayli was diagnosed with ALL after being taken to the ER for a sore on her leg that was originally thought to be a bug bite. During her first month of treatment at Rainbow Kayli decorated her room and spent time making crafts with the nurses and joking around with the staff. Kayli loves to craft, swim, play with her younger sister and help others. Kayli is currently in maintenance and will be done with treatment in September 2021.
